Hello, this is me... I'm a freelance illustrator, graphic and surface pattern designer based near the beautiful Quantock Hills in Somerset, UK. I love creating cheerful, pretty & sometimes witty, illustrative greetings cards, stationery, gift wrap & fabric. Inspired by life in the west country, my designs mostly celebrate all things British - with a scent of the seaside, caravan holidays, cream teas and glorious afternoons spent pottering in the garden listening to the blissful chirp of birdsong.
I began freelancing when I became a mum. Before having children, I'd achieved a BA hons degree in Graphic Design (Illustration) and had spent at least 12 years working in the advertising industry in London & Bristol, where I developed my highly professional approach to projects and gained a wealth of experience. Seeing both our daughters grow and begin to develop a joy for all things creative reminded me of what I had always dreamed of doing when I grew up, which was simply drawing & colouring in.
Each of my designs usually start as an ink line drawing which is then digitally coloured. It's important to me that my designs are produced in a way that is kind to the environment and supports other British businesses - which is why they are printed on FSC papers and are often produced in Britain. Some of my designs can currently be found in UK high street shops including some branches of Waterstones, National Trust & RNLI shops as well as lots of lovely independent card and gift shops across the UK. I work very closely with Cornish Publishers ArtEco Designs, through them I am delighted to offer many of my greetings cards and gift wrap designs to retailers.
When I'm not designing for license, I'm often found collaborating with other artists, designer makers and small business owners, using my Graphic Design & Marketing skills to enable them to build a creative and beautiful brand. I am very passionate about all things hand-crafted and enjoy helping others in a similar situation, nurture businesses created to live a life doing what they love.
If you're interested in stocking my designs or commissioning or obtaining a license to use any work, please use the contact form on this site to say hello. For me, it's all about raising a smile and putting a bit of warmth and colour back into the world.
