Hello! Sorry for the radio silence, it's been a productive couple of weeks. The appearance of the sunshine and summer flowers in my garden has given me a little creative buzz of excitement, so I've been going with it whilst it's here and putting it to good use. Alongside a lovely stack of commission work, I've been working on a couple of new products for my Etsy & Folksy shops. Taking inspiration from the garden, for a while now I've been wanting to do a collection of field guide posters. I know its not a new concept...but as Frankie said, I wanted to do them 'My Way!' using every colour in the box and an abundance of beautiful flowers and creatures... I love those glorious Victorian & Edwardian seed packets with their indulgent botanical illustrations on the front, like this one: https://uk.pinterest.com/pin/49610033370346341/ That is what I had in my head when I set to work on my posters. My aim was a hybrid of classic field guide posters with a bit of those seed packet designs done in my natural hand/style.... |
