Hello! What a lovely week it has been here, I have definitely been eating more ice cream in the heat. It's great that summer is finally here and there's plenty to enjoy and gain inspiration from. We had an amazing day out last weekend at the air show at Weston Super Mare. If you have never been, I highly recommend it for a family day out. We took a picnic and met up with friends on the beach where the red arrows provided a spectacular show overhead, made all the more better this year by the clear blue sky. We've been before on a grey drizzly day (it's an annual event) and it was still amazing to watch and the kids love it... Another great summer day out I had a couple of weeks ago, which I can also recommend is the Contemporary Craft Festival in Bovey Tracey, Devon. I missed last year's festival so I was determined to get there this year because it is such a wonderful and inspiring event. I have a few friends who exhibit there each year and a few more, who like me, just enjoy spending time there, browsing and buying lovely things. It has so much to see with lots of beautiful art, craft, great food, workshops and all-in-all too much to take in on a fleeting visit on a Saturday afternoon (the festival runs for 3 days). However, I was glad I at least had that snatched amount of time there than none at all. It has set me up in good spirits to crack on with the new designs and the commission work I have on the go at the moment. Never underestimate the power of getting out there and meeting up with other creatives!... So now I am feeling in good summer spirits, I have decided to run a bit of an offer over at my Etsy shop. for the next few weeks.... You can now get 20% off all orders over £3 at my Etsy shop until July 14th using the code: SUMMER17 I have added some more summer themed card designs to my Etsy (including the designs featured here). Among them is a design I did a while ago and have a small stock of - 'With a Little Help From My Friends' (pictured below). With this being the 50th anniversary of the Sgt Pepper Album release, I thought it was very fitting. One of the things that inspired me as a child with drawing and the idea of going on to study illustration was seeing the animated film 'Yellow Submarine' on TV - maybe this explains my love of bright colours in my work... I hope your week is filled with the bright colours of summer.
Have a lovely one! Best wishes Angie
