Hello! We've almost made it through January, the days are starting to feel a little longer as the daylight hours stretch a little more each day. It's a beautiful day here today, bright sunshine with a shimmery, frosty, sparkle everywhere. I don't mind winter when it looks like this. However, to me, January always feels a bit of a tricky month. It feels like a stiff shift of gears after the Christmas break. Where a big push is needed to get back in the flow of work and pick up projects from where they were before the holidays, whilst at the same time planning for the year to come. It feels like the passage of one year to the next brings with it a big sense of time marching on and a niggle that we should all be doing more because there goes another year. Yet look again and there's spring, quietly resting in the flower beds and hedgerows, gently waking up, shaking off the winter slowly, gathering itself ready for what lies ahead. Knowing that the best is yet to come. I think we can all learn a lot from spring - nature's start to the year... Which is why I've been busy developing lots of spring designs for my Spoonflower and Etsy shops and they are all up and ready to be seen bursting forth with all their floral prettiness... Over on my Etsy shop I have a January sale running until the end of the month on all illustration prints and gift wraps - which includes these brand new gift wrap designs as an introductory offer.... I've also added some new pieces to my Society 6 shop, including this phone case. Best of all, one of the pots of daffodil bulbs that I popped around our house at the beginning of the month has bloomed today. What a wonderful sight! My eldest daughter thinks I'm a little crazy for getting so excited about seeing a daffodil bloom. She is 10. My reply to her was ' To me, seeing my first spring bloom of the year is as exciting as Christmas day is to you!'. She still thinks I've lost the plot. I can live with that! The print in this image was by Alexandra Snowdon from her Etsy shop Snowdon I hope you have a lovely week.
Best wishes Angie
